AI for small business — minus the hype

AI is more useful, and less magical, than you've been told.

Homegrown AI Consulting helps small businesses build small, real tools that remove repetitive, time-wasting work. No buzzwords, no "digital transformation" theater — just things that work on Monday morning.

What we actually believe

Demystifying AI is the whole job.

Most of what you hear about AI is either a sales pitch or a scare story. Here's the ground we stand on instead:

  • Practical over theoretical.

Tools you can use Monday morning — not a roadmap for someday. If it doesn't save real hours on real work, it doesn't count.

  • Homegrown, not bought.

The best tools are grown in-house for your actual work, not sold off a shelf. They fit your business because they came from your business.

  • Honest about limits.

AI is genuinely great at some things and falls on its face at others. We'll tell you which is which — even when the answer is "you don't need AI for this."

  • The AI cooks, you fish.

The AI can write the code — but you supply the judgment, the business logic, and what "correct" looks like. That human part is the skill worth having, and it's the one we teach.

Three ways in

Advise. Teach. Build.

Some clients want a plan, some want to learn, some want it done. Start wherever you are.

01 · Consulting

Get a plan you can act on

We look at your business together and figure out where AI genuinely helps, what to ignore, and what to do first — in plain language, with no pressure to buy anything else.

02 · Training

Learn to build it yourself

Your team learns to direct AI to build their own small tools — so the capability stays in your house, not a vendor's. Confidence first, jargon never.

03 · Ad-hoc development

Or just have it built

Sometimes you'd rather point at the problem and have the tool show up. Scripts, data tools, simple internal utilities — built for your work, owned by you.

Proof, not promises

I started knowing almost nothing about code.

A gigabyte of messy government data, made useful

I took public NHTSA auto-safety data — over a gigabyte of raw text files — and used Python to surface part-failure patterns that aren't explicitly anywhere in the dataset, then turned the results into pages a person can actually read and use.

No AI degree. No IT department. Just a real problem, precise questions, and tools grown to fit. That's the whole premise of this business — and it's why I know you can do it too.
